Each skein of yarn included in the kit is Cotton Wool Fingering from Peninsula Yarn (50% cotton/50% superwash merino, 437yds/100g)
If you would like to use another yarn (your own yarn or yarn purchased from Peninsula Flock Knits), you can make the pattern using any fingering weight yarn:
Care Instructions for Peninsula Yarn Cotton Wool Fingering yarn: Hand wash in cool water, lay flat to dry. Superwash yarns should not felt if washed in the washing machine, but hand-washing will prolong the life of your finished objects.
